Revolution II Sign Midfielder Patrick Leal
The former Revs Academy product returns to New England following stints with Sporting and Venezia's youth academies.
New England Revolution II bolstered their midfield on Friday as the club announced they had signed Patrick Leal to an MLS NEXT Pro contract through the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season.
Leal, a Newton, Massachusetts resident, joined the Revolution Academy back in 2016, where he scored seven goals over 25 appearances with the U-14s. Following success with the Revs Academy, Leal joined Portuguese side CF Belenenses U-15 squad. In October 2018, Leal joined Portuguese giants Sporting CP and progressed through their youth system.
On July 1st, 2022, Leal joined Serie B side Venezia. Leal appeared in 27 matches for Venezia Primavera, where he notched four goals and six assists over 1,730 minutes. Leal did make his first team debut for Venezia as he clocked one minute during May 22, 2022’s 0-0 draw against Cagliari Calcio.
