Revolution II Sign Michael Tsicoulias
The former Revs Academy prospect returns to the club he made his professional debut with back in 2020.
It’s a case of déjà vu for Michael Tsicoulias. Five seasons after making his professional debut with Revolution II, the 22-year-old finds himself back with the club after spending four seasons at the collegiate level.
September 5, 2020, saw the then 17-year-old Tsicoulias make his professional debut as he started and clocked 68 minutes in Revolution II’s 4-0 loss to Forward Madison. Through the 2020 and 2021 USL League One seasons, Tsicoulias appeared in 14 matches for Revolution II, where he tallied two goals over 352 minutes of action.
After his time with Revolution II ended, Tsicoulias embarked on a collegiate journey at the University of Virginia. During his three seasons with the Cavaliers, Tsicoulias appeared in 38 matches, where he tallied three goals and one assist over 1,359 minutes.
Following the 2023-24 season, Tsicoulias returned to the region as he transferred to the University of New Hampshire. His time with the Wildcats saw him tally two goals and one assist across 17 appearances in his lone season.
Tsicoulias returns to New England on a deal that keeps him with Revolution II through the remainder of the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season. It also includes a one-year club option for 2026.
The now 22-year-old will look to make his Revolution II return on Saturday when Revolution II travels to Belson Stadium to face New York City FC II.
I am confused. A soccer player is allowed to play as a professional and then allowed to play for an NCAA team? Are you using the phrase "professional debut" in the traditional sense?
