Revolution II Sign Goalkeeper JD Gunn
The 2022 PacWest Goalkeeper of the Year inks his first professional contract!
As the club continues preseason preparations at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, New England Revolution II added goalkeeping depth Friday morning with the signing of JD Gunn.
The 24-year-old netminder joins Revs II following a collegiate career that saw stints at the University of Memphis and Biola University. Gunn racked up a 24-17-9 record, tallied 16 clean sheets, and clocked over 4,600 minutes during his time at Biola.
Gunn garnered numerous individual honors, which included 2019 Second Team All-PacWest, 2021 Second Team All-PAC West, 2021 Academic All-PacWest, 2022 Academic All-PacWest, and 2022 First Team All-PacWest honors.
The greatest honor came in 2022 when Gunn was named PacWest Goalkeeper of the Year after ending the season with a 9-4-6 record while notching seven clean sheets and 58 saves.
Gunn and Revolution II will continue preseason training before facing Orlando City B on Saturday. While no official preseason schedule released, Revs II will face USL Championship newcomers Rhode Island FC (February 13th and TBD) and MLS NEXT Pro side Colorado Rapids 2 (February 17th) during their stay in the sunshine state.
Revolution II kick off their 2024 MLS NEXT Pro campaign on March 24th, as they travel to Subaru Park to take on Philadelphia Union II at 3:00 PM ET.
