Revolution II Sign Chris Mbaï-Assem
The 20-year-old joins Revs II following stints in the French youth system.
New England Revolution II bolstered its defense on Saturday as the club announced the signing of 20-year-old defender Chris Mbaï-Assem.
The Rocky Mount, North Carolina native returns stateside after kickstarting his professional career in France, which included stints with OC Vannes, Stade Briochin, and RC Strasbourg youth system.
Mbaï-Assem’s first professional appearance came during his time with Briochin when he clocked two minutes for Briochin B in a 1-0 loss to Saint-Colomban Locminé on April 2nd. 2023.
After impressing with the Strasbourg U-19s, Mbaï-Assem ascended to the French side’s B team. He went on to appear in 23 matches for Strasbourg B, clocking 1,673 minutes.
Chris Mbaï-Assem’s deal with New England sees him signed through the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season. It’s unclear if he will be available to make his debut on Sunday when Revs II travels to Chester to face Philadelphia Union II.
