Projected weather: It will be a chilly night at Gillette Stadium as temps will stand at 39° at kickoff and fall into the mid 30’s by the final whistle with light winds topping at 7mph.
NYCFC:
NYCFC II enters Matchday 2 well-rested after having a bye week to start the season.
Not much information regarding NYCFC II's preseason was available, yet the club spent time in North Carolina preparing while playing two friendlies against FC Motown and Queens College.
In the buildup to Sunday’s meeting, NYCFC II head coach Matthew Pilkington mentioned the brewing rivalry between the two clubs. Pilkington also adds he expects Revs II to be “well organized and well structured” while also highlighting Revs II's aggressiveness and commitment to pressing.
Revs II:
Revolution II enters Sunday’s affair on the heels of a narrow 3-2 victory on the road over Atlanta United 2 to open the season. A victory that saw the Revs II 3-0 lead nearly disintegrate in the final ten minutes.
Midfielder Jake Rozhansky relished in the victory while also pointing out the near collapse at the end. “It was a great win. I think we could have solidified this game earlier at 3-0. I think we should have kept it there, but it's lessons to learn from, and it's a good start this season, so we got to keep going.”
