Revolution II Announce Richie Williams to Depart Club & Year-End Roster Decisions

With the 2025 season in the rear-view mirror, New England Revolution II turned its attention to the 2026 season when the club announced its year-end roster decisions.
The biggest change heading into 2026 won’t be on the field, but along the touchline. After two seasons at the helm, Richie Williams will not return for the 2026 season as his contract with the club expired following the 2025 season and will not be renewed. Williams’ two seasons with Revs II saw him tally an 18-26-13 record along with nine shootout victories while reaching the playoffs once.
Defender Chris Mbaï-Assem and midfielder Cristiano Oliveira return on guaranteed deals, while midfielder Joe Buck, defender Gabe Dahlin, and forward Sharod George had their contract options exercised. Forward Jayden Da and goalkeeper JD Gunn return after re-signing to new one-year deals
Oliveira had a breakout year in 2025, ending the season with five goals and an assist in 25 appearances. Buck returned for his second stint with the club on January 3 and ended the 2025 season with 531 minutes clocked over 18 appearances.
Mbaï-Assem had a solid season following his arrival on August 21, ending the year with 115 minutes clocked in five appearances. Dahlin was a center point for this Revs II defense as he appeared in 28 matches during the 2025 season, tallying three assists over 2,408 minutes.
George returns after clocking 206 minutes in eight appearances following his arrival on July 17 and Da will look to make his Revolution II debut in 2026 after suffering an ACL injury during preseason. Da made his first matchday squad appearance during Revs II’s playoff loss to Chicago, but was an unused sub.
Gunn returns for his third season with Revolution II. 2025 saw the Panama international tally two clean sheets in nine appearances.
Revolution II declined the contract options for forwards Damorney Hutchinson and Michael Tsicoulias.
Hutchinson ended the 2025 season with an impressive four goals and three assists in 23 appearances. Tsicoulias’ second stint with Revolution II saw him tally a goal and an assist in 11 appearances.
Defender Hesron Barry, forward Liam Butts, midfielder Gevork Diarbian, forward Marcos Dias, forward Alex Monis, defender Victor Souza, and goalkeeper Max Weinstein will become out-of-contract as their deals with Revolution II expire following the 2025 season.
Barry has spent the last two seasons with Revs II, clocking 3,096 minutes over 40 appearances. 2025 also saw Barry make his Revolution debut, clocking eight minutes in New England’s Open Cup loss to Chicago.
Butts has spent the last two years with Revs II, where he’s tallied 18 goals and three assists over 36 appearances. Monis has spent the last two years in New England. The former Chicago Fire product has tallied nine goals and five assists over 40 appearances.
Diarbian has called Revs II home for the last two years, tallying 10 goals and six assists over 56 appearances. 2025 saw him make his first-team debut as he featured in both of New England’s U.S. Open Cup matches.
Dias has spent the last four seasons with Revolution II, where he’s become the club’s all-time leader in appearances (97), goals (34), assists (22), and minutes played (8,561). 2025 saw Dias make league history as his 13 assists marked the most in a single season. He also took home the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Playmaker of the Year award.
Souza has played the last three years in New England after the Revs selected him with the 39th overall pick in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. Souza’s time with Revs II saw him tally two goals and one assist over 70 appearances for the club.
Weinstein has been with Revolution II since his days with the Revs Academy. His four years with the club saw him notch six clean sheets over 27 appearances. Weinstein spent the second half of 2025 on loan with Estonian side Kalev Tallin.
