Revolution II Add 3 Players Ahead of 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Season
Revs II ink deals with forwards Alex Monis, Andrej Bjelajac, and defender Collin Smith!
New England Revolution II’s recent flurry of roster additions continued on Monday as the club announced the signing of three players ahead of their 2024 MLS NEXT Pro campaign.
Former Chicago Fire Homegrown Alex Monis joins Revolution II after spending three seasons in the Windy City. Over three years, Monis appeared in four matches for the Fire, where he tallied one goal over 119 minutes. Monis made 40 appearances for Chicago Fire II, where he notched 11 goals and two assists over 2,141 minutes.
While in Chicago, Monis had two loan stints with USL League One side Forward Madison, where he clocked 180 minutes over seven appearances. He also spent the end of the 2023 season on loan with USL Championship side Rio Grande Valley Toros, where he tallied one goal over 393 minutes in six appearances.
Forward Andrej Bjelajac joins Revolution II from Omladinska liga Srbije (Serbian Youth League), where he had stints with Gaficar Belgrad U-19s, FK Vojvodina Novi Sad U-19s, and FK Partizan Belgrade U-19/U-17.
Through 44 appearances over the last three seasons, the now-18-year-old notched 15 goals and three assists over 1,700+ minutes.
Defender Collin Smith joins Revolution II after spending the past five seasons with the FC Dallas organization.
The Former FC Dallas Homegrown appeared in two matches for the MLS side, where he clocked 109 minutes. Smith made 68 appearances for North Texas SC, where he notched three goals and eight assists over 4,353 minutes.
Smith has experience at the USL Championship level, as he spent the 2023 season on loan with Birmingham Legion FC. The 20-year-old appeared in 36 matches for the Legion, where he tallied three goals and one assist over 2,741 minutes.
Revolution II’s roster now stands at 13 players as the trio joins Jordan Adebayo-Smith, Jacob Akanyirige, Brandonn Bueno, Marcos Dias, Olger Escobar, Patrick Leal, Maciel, Colby Quinones, Victor Souza, and Max Weinstein.
Jordan Adebayo-Smith isn't with R2 anymore, right? He was sold.
