Portland Hearts of Pine rang in the new year by unveiling the Lighthouse Kit, an ode to one of the most recognized U.S. Men’s National Team jerseys of all time and an iconic Maine landmark.
The red-and-white hoops resemble the U.S. jersey worn in 2012, affectionately nicknamed “the Waldo.” Landon Donovan, who is part of the campaign, donned the shirt with the senior team while Hearts captain Mikey Lopez wore it with the U-20 squad.
The shirt also takes design cues from the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse in Lubec, Maine. The lighthouse, located at the country's northeasternmost point, is among the first places to see sunlight.
The Lighthouse Kit replaces the Bandit Kit and will first be worn in Hearts’ 2026 League One season opener on March 14 at the New York Cosmos. The club will continue to wear the Woods & Water Kit and the Blaze Kit.
The Lighthouse Kit is currently available online and will be sold at the Hearts Team Store on Hanover Street starting Friday, January 2. There’s a scarf and a beanie that complement the jersey.
