Portland Hearts of Pine Sign Emiliano Terzaghi
USL League One's all-time leading scorer arrives in Portland!
Portland Hearts of Pine welcomed a USL League One legend on Monday as the club announced the signing of Emiliano Terzaghi.
The 32-year-old forward arrives in Portland after spending the last six seasons with USL League One side Richmond Kickers, where he notched a league record 62 goals along with six assists in his 131 appearances for the club.
On top of holding the most goals in league history, Terzaghi also won three consecutive Golden Boot and Most Valuable Player awards during the 2020, 2021, and 2022 seasons.
Before arriving in the United States, Terzaghi began his career in his native Argentina, playing for numerous clubs like CA Banfield, CA Temperley, Boca Unidos, CA Defensores de Belgrano, Union, Huracán, and San Martín.
Terzaghi’s time in Argentina saw him assist CA Banfield to the 2013-14 Primera Nacional title.
The culture and atmosphere around Portland Hearts of Pine were a big reason for Terzaghi joining the club.
“When I received the call, I didn’t hesitate—I put aside other options to sign with Hearts,” he said in a statement. “The passion of the fans and what they bring to every match is something very special for us as players, and it’s not something you find everywhere.”
Portland Hearts of Pine kick off its second USL League One season on March 14th when they travel to Hinchliffe Stadium in Patterson, New Jersey, to face the New York Cosmos.
