Leo Campana Out Three to Four Weeks
A hamstring strain will keep the recently acquired forward out for a few matches.
The New England Revolution’s start to the 2025 season got rougher on Tuesday when the club announced star forward Leo Campana will miss three to four weeks after suffering a hamstring injury.
Head coach Caleb Porter revealed Campana suffered the hamstring injury three minutes into the game after slipping on the Gillette Stadium turf. Despite trying to tough it out, the injury forced Campana off just 10 minutes into the Revolution’s 2-0 loss at home to the Philadelphia Union on Saturday.
“He’ll probably miss three games,” Porter said. “We do have an international break, so that helps because it’s a bye week. He has a hamstring strain. It was kind of a fluke, he actually did it three minutes into the game slipping on the turf. So, it’s a very flukey hamstring strain, but he'll be out four weeks.”
Campana’s injury could not have come at a worse time for the Revolution, who have gone scoreless in the opening 270 minutes of the 2025 season.
Porter and the coaching staff will have to determine a plan of attack, with the striker slated to miss some games.
“Like always, we’ll do what we think is best to win the game,” Porter said when asked about how to replace Campana. “We’re always looking at the chemistry of the group, that’s really important. We have to look at the opponent and what they’re looking to do – that’s really important, as well. So, we’ll prepare this week. We will tinker a little bit, because we know for four weeks – probably four weeks, could be three – we have to deal with Leo being out.”
The Revolution will look for their first goal of the 2025 campaign this Saturday when they travel to Yankee Stadium to take on NYCFC at 7:30 PM ET.

Better news than I was worried we’d get. That looked like Chancalay’s injury in that it didn’t seem like a big deal at the time.
I really wish we didn’t have turf in our stadium though. I feel like it consistently hurts our team.
