JD Gunn and Alex Monis Receive International Call-Ups
Gunn and Monis set to represent their respective national teams after concluding the 2024 season finale on Sunday.
After Revolution II concludes the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season on Sunday, goalkeeper JD Gunn and Alex Monis will head off for international duty as the duo received international call-ups on Wednesday.
Alex Monis will return to the Philippines National Team as the nation prepares for the upcoming King’s Cup in Thailand. Monis and the Philippines will begin their King’s Cup quest on October 11 when they face host nation Thailand inside Tinsulanon Stadium.
Depending on the result of their semifinal match, the Philippines will play the championship or third-place match against the winner or loser of Syria and Tajikistan on October 14.
Monis enters this international window after a tremendous debut season with Revolution II, during which he tallied eight goals and four assists in 23 appearances. He has four caps for the Philippines National Team and has tallied one assist in 309 minutes.
Wednesday marked goalkeeper JD Gunn’s first call-up to the Panamanian National Team.
Since joining Revs II in the offseason, Gunn has mended the net 17 times. He’s allowed 35 goals while notching 70 saves.
Gunn and Panama will open the window with a friendly against the United States on October 12 inside Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas, at 9:00 pm ET on TNT and Telemundo.
On October 15, Gunn and Panama will wrap up the international window with a friendly against Canada inside BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, at 7:30 pm ET.
