Ismael Tajouri-Shradi Returns to Major League Soccer

Former New England Revolution winger Ismael Tajour-Shradi has returned to Major League Soccer as the 29-year-old has inked a deal with Minnesota United FC.
Tajouri-Shradi returns to the States following a stint with Protathlima Cyta side Omonia Nicosia, where he notched one goal over 14 appearances with the club in a run that saw Omonia Nicosia hoist their second-consecutive Cypriot Cup.
Tajouri-Shradi was one of Bruce Arena’s summer additions last season, as the Revs sent $400,000 in General Allocation Money to Los Angeles FC for the winger.
Many poised Tajouri-Shradi to be the spark the then-struggling Revolution needed. Despite that, complications from a thigh muscle injury prevented the winger from seeing the pitch in a Revolution jersey, as Tajouri-Shradi did not appear in any of the 12 matches following his August 5th, 2022 acquisition.
The Revolution did have a team option on Tajouri-Shradi but chose not to, leaving him a free agent. Following the 2022 season, Tajouri-Shradi told The Blazing Musket's Seth Macomber that he was healthy and ready to sign.
Before joining the Revolution, Tajouri-Shradi spent five seasons in Major League Soccer with New York City SC and LAFC. He appeared in 104 appearances, where he notched 31 goals and seven assists. Tajouri-Shradi lifted silverware in 2021 as he and NYCFC won the MLS Cup.
Tajouri-Shradi’s contract with Minnesota runs through the 2023 MLS season and has two club option years for 2024 and 2025.
