Hartford Athletic Transfer Marcus Epps to Lexington SC
Epps departs after one season in the green and blue
Hartford Athletic have transferred forward Marcus Epps to USL Championship newcomers Lexington Sporting Club. The terms of the transfer were not immediately disclosed.
In his single season in Hartford, Epps appeared in every single game, the only player to do so in 2024, and only the fourth player in club history to do so (Joel Johnson did so in 2022, and Danny Barrera did so in both 2020 and 2022). He also logged the third-most minutes among all players in the squad in the past season, and tallied three goals and two assists.
Lexington SC joined USL League One prior to the 2023 season and finished ninth in the table in both of their seasons in the league. On August 13, 2024, the club announced that they would leave League One to join the USL Championship ahead of the 2025 season. They are the second club to make that move, with North Carolina FC moving back into the Championship following their League One title-winning campaign in 2023 (NCFC had previously competed in the Championship from 2018-2020).
The Blazing Musket will continue to have coverage of all of Hartford Athletic’s offseason moves as they are announced.
