Four More Players Receive International Call-Ups
The recent string of international call-ups continues!
The New England Revolution’s recent string of international call-ups continues as the first team’s Mamadou Fofana, Revs II’s Olger Escobar, Liam Butts, and Alex Monis, and Academy prospect Grant Emerhi received call-ups to their respective national teams.
Fofana will join Mali as the nation prepares for a pair of World Cup Qualifiers. Mali will open the window on March 20th when they face Comoros at 5 PM ET. March 24th sees them face the Central African Republic at noon ET.
Since making his Mali senior debut on October 6, 2017, Fofana has tallied one goal over 42 appearances.
Olger Escobar’s time with Guatemala got off to an incredible start on Sunday when he netted a spectacular goal in the 86th minute to propel Guatemala to a 2-1 victory over Honduras.
He has now tallied one goal and two assists over his six caps with Guatemala. Escobar will look to add to that when Guatemala plays a pair of Concacaf Gold Cup Preliminary matches against Guyana on March 21 and March 25.
Monis returns to the Philippines National Team as the nation prepares to host the Maldives in an AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifier on March 25th at 7 AM ET.
Since his June 6, 2024 debut, Monis has tallied two assists over 13 appearances for the nation.
Butts earns his first call-up to the Guyana National Team as the nation prepares for Concacaf Gold Cup Preliminary action. Butts and Guyana will go to battle against Escobar in a pair of matches on March 21 and 25.
Academy forward Grant Emerhi returns to the Lithuania U-17s as the nation prepares for Round 2 of the UEFA Under-17 Qualifying tournament action. Emeri and Lithuania open the window on March 22 when they take on Georgia at 3 PM ET before facing Kazakhstan on March 25 at 3 PM ET.
Emerhi has netted two goals and an assist over his 17 previous caps with the Lithuania U-17 squad.
