Dylan Borrero Stretchered Off The Field Against New York Red Bulls
Borrero recently made his return after undergoing a sugery to repair a torn left ACL on May 24, 2023.
You have to feel for Dylan Borrero as the winger was stretchered off the field during the New England Revolution’s game against the New York Red Bulls on Saturday.
On May 24, 2023, it was announced that Borrero underwent successful surgery to repair a torn left ACL. The winger returned to game action on Apr. 27, 2024 when he contributed 9 minutes against Inter Miami CF.
Borrero played 15 minutes against the Chicago Fire and 26 minutes against the New York Red Bulls.
On Saturday, Borrero fell to the ground in the 96th minute after Daniel Edelman collided with him. The 22-year-old appeared to be grabbing his left knee.
Head coach Caleb Porter didn’t have much of an update during his post-game press conference.
“I don't know,” Porter said. “I don't know what it is. Last I heard, maybe it wasn't as serious as we thought initially, but I don't know the extent of it. I'll give you guys an update when I know.”
I really hope he’s right and it’s not as serious as a stretcher implies. I hate the Red Bulls and the challenge on Borrero doesn’t change that.
For Dylan's sake hope it isn't as serious as it looked.
