New England Revolution II’s 2025 season came to a heartbreaking end on Sunday after the club suffered a 1-0 loss to Chicago Fire II in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal.
After a difficult 2024 season that saw Revolution II struggle in the results and stats department, 2025 has seen this New England side rejuvenated as they put the woes of last season behind them and had a tremendous season, which saw them excel in the development and results departments. Let’s look at the numbers.
1 - After leading the league in red cards with five in 2024, the club vastly improved its discipline by receiving only one in 2025. It’s the fewest red cards the club has received in its six-season history.
1.3 - After conceding 37 goals in the regular season, Revs II ended the season with 1.3 goals conceded per match. It marks the fewest goals per match New England has allowed in its six-season history.
1.98 - New England’s 54 points in a 28-game regular season saw them end the regular season with a 1.98 points per game average. It’s the second-highest points per game average the club has achieved.
2 - After finishing the regular season as the third seed, Revolution II secured a spot in the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Cup Playoffs. It marks the second time in the club’s six-season history that they earned a playoff berth.
10 - Defender Hesron Barry found himself the recipient of 10 yellow cards this season. It’s tied for the most in MLS NEXT Pro in 2025.
11 - Midfielder Javaun Mussenden became the 11th recipient of the New England Revolution Academy Player of the Year award. It came after the 18-year-old tallied a goal and two assists in 22 appearances for Revs II in 2025.
13 - Marcos Dias ended the regular season with 13 assists. Not only is that the most in Revolution II history, but Dias is now the MLS NEXT Pro single-season assist record holder.
13 - Liam Butts’ brace in the Decision Day meeting saw his 2025 tally rise to 13 goals, which makes him the record holder for most goals in a singular season. Former forward Jordan Adebayo-Smith was the previous record holder after netting 12 goals during his lone season with the club in 2023. Butts also became the second player to net double-digit goals in a single season.
17 - After ending the season with 54 goals scored and 37 goals conceded, New England amassed a +17 goal differential. It marks the highest goal differential in club history.
28 - Marcos Dias appeared in all 28 regular-season matches. He joins Nick Firmino, Maciel, Connor Presley, Noel Buck, Ryan Spaulding, Victor Souza, and Gevork Diarbain as the only players to appear in every regular-season match.
44.2% - Revolution II averaged just 44.2% possession per match. It was the third-least in MLS NEXT Pro in 2025. It also marks the lowest average possession percentage in club history.
71 - Despite the successful season, New England ended the season with just 71 saves. It marks the second-fewest saves in club history.
96 - Marcos Dias executed 96 key passes, which was not only the most in MLS NEXT Pro this year, but the most in league history.
97 - Dias’ 29 appearances in 2025 saw his all-time tally climb to 97 to become the club’s all-time leader in appearances made. September 18th’s meeting with New York City FC II saw Dias surpass Colby Quiñones’ record of 92 appearances.
