Revolution defender Mamadou Fofana is returning to the national stage after receiving a call-up to the Mali National Team as the nation prepares for the upcoming African Cup of Nations Tournament.
Fofana and Mali begin the group stage on December 22 with a meeting against Zambia. December 26 sees Les Aigles return to action with a meeting against Morocco before wrapping up the group stage on the 29th against Comoros.
The Bamako native will look to add to his extensive national team resume, which includes a goal and 3,995 minutes clocked over 48 caps.
Mamadou’s call-up comes after a strong debut season in New England, where he tallied one assist and clocked 2,577 minutes over 30 appearances.
