Sunday’s 2-1 win over reigning MLS NEXT Pro Cup champions Red Bull New York II was emotional for Arlington native Joe Buck, who entered the match in the 79th minute, which marked his first appearance since October 5, 2025.

Buck ended his shift completing all five pass attempts, a headed clearance, and one defensive recovery. While it was a tough process, Buck was incredibly thankful for everyone who helped him along the way.

“Everyone’s been great," he told The Blazing Musket. "Everything’s been great. Super supportive, coaches all the way through the staff and players. It feels really good to be back.”

While the emotions were high for Buck following his return, he wasn’t the only one. While talking with head coach Pablo Moreira, he emphasized his reaction to Buck’s return and applauded the work he put into his recovery.

“I almost cried," Moreira said. "He’s been through a lot. It’s been almost a year and a half of injuries that he’s had to fight through. We took our time this time around, and I really wanted him to be in a good mental spot, and he was.”

Buck and Revolution II will look to keep their seven-game unbeaten run intact when they host Chicago Fire II at Bryant University’s Beirne Stadium on June 21 at 11 AM.
