This is a story I wish I didn't have to write. The best Revs II writer in the game is moving down to warmer pastures.
For a lot of you, Josh Nye is just someone you see on a byline. But he is so much than that. He is someone that we have got to see grow and have made countless memories with.
Josh is the preeminent Revs II writer as I can't remember him missing a game since it was his beat. There was no one who knew as much about Revs II as Josh.
Through him I learned so much about players to keep an eye on for potential moves to the first team. Recently he expanded to being a photographer/journalist covering the club.
Beyond Revs II, Josh was a major help covering breaking news. His efforts deserve all the kudos in the world.
I got to see up close and personal the relationship that Josh has built with Revs II recently. He would exchange hellos with substitutes warming up and chat with members of the coaching staff as well.
At the conclusion of the match, Josh was welcomed onto the field for a quick team photo as well as a farewell from Revs II head coach Pablo Moreira. Exchanging goodbyes with players and coaches, you could see how much he meant to them.
It might not come as a shock, but there is not a lot of media coverage for Revs II. Josh was largely the only dedicated journalist covering the team and with him expanding into photography, he also became a source of photos for players to enjoy.
I got to see him improve as a journalist. Along with his copy, I watched along proudly as he conducted interviews with coaches and players.
Josh was even there for some of the moments that I still hold dearly. He was up in Vermont for the Green's first Open Cup match and other Vermont excursions that included great conversations over Domino's pizza.
Josh is still going to cover Revs II and write for the site. If that doesn't show his dedication to the craft I don't know what will. He is currently on the road to head to his new home. Please show him some love in the comments and on social media.
We are going to miss you Josh. You always knew when to crack a joke and your efforts are hard to quantify. We know this isn't a goodbye, so we can't wait to see you again.
