Not a whole lot went on yesterday so we're gonna rapid fire through these, links to the full highlights will be attached to the scorelines.
So Ronaldo scored twice, gets an unofficial assist on Nuno Mendes' free kick in the first half but just being near the dead ball spot, and all is well with Portugal. Right?

I don't think so. Portugal is still second in Group K behind Colombia and need to beat Los Cafeteros in the finale to win the group and avoid playing the runner up from Group L (probably Croatia or Ghana) in the next round instead of a third place team. Ronaldo has also played all 180 minutes so far at age 41, which may not be the best idea Portugal's long term goals at this tournament which should be in and around the quarterfinals you would think.
Portugal is still batting below expectations. If they beat Colombia and win their Ro32 game which they should be favored in, they still might be batting below expectations because they are the 2016 Euro Champions who should under no circumstance be celebrating a win over Uzbekistan like they just made the semifinals of something.

Pour one out for the White Wolves who are not mathematically eliminated but very much need a big win over DR Congo and had this thunder bastard (rightly) ruled out for foul in the build up.

TBM was onsite at Gillette Boston Stadium so Sam Lattof had the recap of a rather dismal England performance. Which surprised absolutely no one if you knew the scouting report of the English trying to do anything productive in Massachusetts like John Strong did.

Ghana defended very well in this one, should have had a stone cold penalty late in the game but also we saw Harry Kane miss an absolute sitter as well. A draw felt appropriate especially for Ghana knowing that four points is probably more than enough to make the knockouts which out of this group for them is a great achievement and they can stay second with a result against Croatia.
Questions still abound for England in particular for not having players like Phil Foden, Cole Palmer, and maybe even a Trent Alexander-Arnold whose creativity could help unlock a low block and well they aren't here. A lot of the momentum the Three Lions had after a comprehensive victory over Croatia might have just evaporated.
Good news, England plays Panama in the finale and should win the group but hopefully the Canaleros can do a better job than the 6-1 rout they were on the wrong end of eight years ago.

An absolutely dismal first half that saw a combined 0.11 xG generated thanks to an appropriate combined 11 touches in the opponents box.
Thankfully Croatia made some changes at halftime and it paid off immediately with substitute Ante Budimer polishing off a Josip Stanisic cross at the back post as Panama keeper Orlando Mosquera came off his line only to flap at the dangerous ball in.

I think we should be a little worried about Croatia's offense especially if Ghana want to bunker this aggressively again to try and get second place because 2-for-6 shooting Panama is not all that confidence inspiring. They do have all to play for in their final match but need a win to jump over Ghana for second and if they win that victory should help this side get back on track.
Panama still looking for that elusive first World Cup point and they might have to wait another four years unless they get England on the bad foot again. While they are already eliminated, if the Canaleros can steal a point and throw the standings into chaos on the final day that would be a solid enough accomplishment.

Pretty much a carbon copy of the first game except Colombia were peppering DR Congo's net all game, with Lionel Mpasi recording eight saves on the night.
Los Cafeteros were rewarded in the late stages when the Congolese couldn't clear their lines (and like 4 advantages were played) and eventually Daniel Munoz slotted home with the help of a deflection as his teammate shielded off a defender so the fullback could run onto Juan Quintero's entry pass.

COLOMBIA TAKES THE LEAD LATE 🇨🇴 pic.twitter.com/LZgxOBssCw
Colombia had a couple of goals right after this chalked off for a foul and an offside as Luis Diaz was trying everything to seal the points. Still a little torn on Colombia because they're playing well but I don't know if their offense has hit a gear we know it's capable of as the second highest scoring team from CONEMBOL qualifying. But they have six out of six points so it's hard to nitpick when they control their own destiny going into the final group game because they, unlike several other favorites, took care of business in the first two games.
A draw would be enough for enough for Los Cafeteros to seal the group against Portugal as we discussed. DR Congo would be in a great position on four points with a win over Uzbekistan and the Leopards have a great chance to make the knockouts on their World Cup debut.
