The same day he graduated from Bowdoin College, Huck started for Portland Hearts of Pine. It was a special occasion for both him and his family.
The 22-year-old inked a professional contract after a successful preseason trial. He's since collected a goal and an assist while earning plenty of praise for his constant energy.
Soccer careers can be short, so Huck is doing everything he can to take advantage of the opportunities he gets. It's easy to root for him.
Wada: "Obviously, what happened to me was devastating. But at the same time, what I realized was how lucky I am; how lucky I am to be a soccer player, to be on this team."
Wada's injury has left a cloud over the 2026 season, but it's nice to hear that he still has a deep affinity for Portland. Little gestures, including fans folding cranes for him, highlight how special this community is.
The hope is that the Japanese midfielder will don Hearts colors next year after a full recovery. His story, which includes rediscovering his love for soccer after coming to the United States, has much more to offer.

Given how the season has gone, you can't help but wonder if things would've been different if the team avoided major injuries.
At times, it's felt like head coach Bobby Murphy has been building the plane while flying it. Players have come and gone, making it difficult to build chemistry.
No one wants to hear excuses, but Hearts have faced more than their share of adversity this year.
Murphy: "Stay focused on the little moment at hand. Keep turning momentum in your favor. Keep turning it in your favor, and the little moments add up to big moments."
This is a good message as Hearts embark on their final ten games of the season. If they're going to make a late push for the playoffs, they have to focus on incremental success.
Momentum is a real thing in soccer, as one win can lead to many. Hearts' next test comes Saturday when they welcome Fort Wayne.
