Brasil and France faced off at Gillette Stadium and Les Blues walked away with a 2-1 win.

Brasil's starting XI featured the backline of Wesley (Bologna) Bremer (Juventus) Leo Pereira (Flamengo) and Douglas Santos (Zenit) with Ederson (Fenerbache) in net.

Casemiro (Manchester United), Andrey Santos (Everton) and Matheus Cunha (Manchester United) made up the midfield. Raphinha (FC Barcelona) and Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal) were on the wings while Vinicius Jr. (Real Madrid) was the lone striker.

France's starting XI featured a backline of Malo Gusto (Chelsea) Theo Hernandez (Al-Hilal) Ibrahim Konate (Liverpool) Dayot Upamecano (Bayern Munich) in front of Mike Maignan (AC Milan). Adrien Rabiot (AC Milan) and Aurelien Tchhouameni (Real Madrid) were in the midfield flanked by Ousmane Dembele (PSG) and Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid). Michael Olise (FC Bayern) was the No. 10 while Hugo Ekitite (Liverpool) was the lone striker.

For a friendly, the match featured plenty of physical play. France appeared to have the upper hand early on but Brasil did a good job of using its speed to get behind France's backline.

Entering the cooling break (it was 64 degress farenheit outside), both sides were looking to score some significant chances and generate more on the attack. Martinelli had the first dangerous chance, curling a shot wide of the net in the 27th minute.

Periera was the first player to enter the refree's book with a heavy challenge on Olise earning the Flamengo defender a yellow card.

Mbappe opened the scoring, bursting pass the Brazilian backline courtesy of a ball from Dembele. The Frenchman chipped Ederson in a great display of his speed and skill to put France up 1-0 in the 31st minute. Mbappe nearly added another to his tally in the 36th minute but the laser of a shot whizzed just wide of the goal.

Casemiro earned a yellow card in the 38th minute for dissent. He nearly made up for it in the 40th minute but his header soared over the goal.

After 45 minutes, France showed its dominance and class in attack with the likes of Dembele and Mbappe. Brasil largely struggled but failed to take advantage of the minimal chances it got.

At half, Luis Henrique (Zenit St. Petersburg) replaced Raphinha.

Brasil came out firing to start the second half, looking to draw level. Henrique blasted a shot in the 49th minute but Maignan punched the shot away.

Upamecano entered the referee's book in the 52nd minute and after being issued a yellow card, referee Guido Gonzales Jr went to VAR and after consulting with VAR Official Tim Ford, the Bayern Munich center back was issued a red card.

In the 57th minute Maxence Lacroix (Crystal Palace) and N'Golo Kante (Fenerbache) entered the pitch, replacing Dembele and Tchouameni. In the 62nd minute Martinelli was replaced by Joao Pedro (Chelsea).

Even a man down, France was still able to work through Brasil's press as Olise got acres of open space and Ekitike chipped Ederson to give Les Blues a 2-0 lead in the 65th minute. After the goal Ekitike and Mbappe were repalced by Marcus Thuram (Inter Milan) and Desire Doue (PSG).

The Brazilian crowd was clearly not pleased as Neymar chants echoed through the stadium. Konate earned a yellow card in the 72nd minute and then Carlo Ancelotti made a change after the second cooling break of the day. Brasil brought on Danilo (Botafogo), Igor Thiago (Brentford), Roger Ibanez (Al-Ahli) for Wesley, Cunha, and Santos in the 73rd minute.

Bremer earned a yellow card in the 76th minute, further illustrating how tough the French attack was to handle. The center back made up for his defensive lapses by tapping in a goal after a pass from Henrique. Ibanez earned a yellow card soon after for a heavy tackle on Theo Hernandes.

The goal gave Brasil some life as it searched to draw level. Vini Jr. was rapid on the wing and caused problems for French defenders. Midfielder Gabriel Sara replaced Casemiro in the 84th minute. France's final change came in stoppage time as Pierre Kalulu (Juventus) and Maghnes Akilouche (AS Monaco) replaced Gusto and Olise. Akilouche earned a yellow card in stoppage time after coming on.

With time running our Bremer played a beautiful ball into the box but Vini Jr. was unable to get his foot cleanly onto the ball. Maignan then earned a yellow card for time wasting.
