Two more players have been added to Vermont's roster
Vermont Green FC has continued to add players to its roster ahead of the 2024 USL League Two season. Francesco Montali and Andrey Salmeron will be spending the summer in Burlington.
Montali finished his collegiate career with Boston University 47 matches played, 149 saves, a .99 goals against average, and 19 clean sheets. The BU goalkeeper is the two-time reigning Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year. He was also drafted by the Philadelphia Union in the third round of the 2024 MLS SuperDraft.
Montali will look to compete with Vermont Green mainstay Nathan Schnur for minutes between the sticks.
Salmeron is a Costa Rican international who is coming off a Rookie of the Year season with VCU. In his freshman season he racked up 18 starts, three goals, and an assist. The midfielder also led VCU to an Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championship.
On the international stage, Salmeron has featured for the Costa Rican U-15, U-17, and U-20 National Teams.
There's gonna be fierce competition at Green between the sticks this season.
