USL League Two Rumor: Boston City Moving to USL League 1
The Northeast division could lose a team.
After finishing in the bottom of USL League Two’s Northeast division the last two years — including only tallying one point in the 2023 season — Boston City FC could be moving up to USL League One according to reporting from Nossa Radio’s Gustavo Lopes.
Lopes notes that ownership has told him that the club based in Malden is in negotiations to move up a division. Additionally, according to Lopes, the club is looking to move its home to White Stadium, the stadium that is currently set to be the home of Boston’s NWSL side.
Also, the group of investors is expanding Boston City FC to two states in Brazil according to Lopes. This includes Renato Valentin an owner of Boston City and former Brazil National Team player, Felipe Melo forming a partnership to acquire a traditional club in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
