UNCW To Honor Olivia Knighton With Game, Shirt
Revs fans can honor Olivia by attending the game and/or buying a shirt.
The University of North Carolina Wilmington men’s soccer program will honor the life of Olivia Knighton during their game against Northeastern University on Saturday, Sept. 2.
Olivia, daughter of former New England Revolution goalkeeper Brad Knighton, passed away on July 19 after a boating accident. Her obituary can be found here.
UNCW, the college that Brad played at from 2003-06, will honor Olivia this Saturday. Tickets to the game are here.
UNCW is selling teal shirts to celebrate Olivia ahead of the game. Proceeds from the sales will go to the men’s soccer program in Olivia’s memory.
While attending the game is a difficult task for most Revs fans, they can purchase a shirt and have it mailed to them. The link for the shirts can be found here.
There have been many touching tributes to Olivia since her passing, including Revs players wearing shirts that donned her name before their game on July 26.
On that same night, fans of the club displayed a beautiful tifo and chanted Olivia’s name in the 65th minute.
Brad played for the Revs for 12 seasons and currently serves as an academy coach. My interactions with Brad have always been positive and my heart goes out to his family.
