Scenes from Tuesday's Revs Practice - Jun 27, 2023
Here are some storylines from Tuesday's practice.
The Blazing Musket attended the New England Revolution’s training session on Tuesday, Jun. 27, 2023. Here are some notes from the trip.
Positives and Negatives on the Injury Front
On the positive front, Tommy McNamara was a full participant during the training session. The midfielder, who has been sidelined with a left leg injury, has yet to make an appearance this season, but that could change soon.
Nacho Gil, who also hasn’t played a minute yet, was spotted off to the side jogging and doing ball work with a trainer.
Henry Kessler was seen walking around the premises. Revs coach Bruce Arena said, “He’s out of his brace. He’s moving forward.”
Meanwhile, Noel Buck and Gustavo Bou didn’t participate in Tuesday’s practice. Buck wasn’t available for last Saturday’s game due to a knock. Bou played 45 minutes before exiting with muscle discomfort. Revs coach Bruce Arena said Bou’s issue was unrelated to previous injuries.
Bruce Arena Quiet About the Summer Transfer Window
With the Summer Transfer Window set to open on Jul. 5, The Blazing Musket asked Arena a series of questions. He’s a transcript of the interaction:
TBM: Coming up, you have the Summer Transfer Window. You guys have some resources there. Do you imagine making a move soon into that window or is it going to take some time to have things finalized?
Arena: I don’t know the answer to that question.
TBM: Do you think it’s important to add some pieces during the Summer Transfer Window?
Arena: It would be nice, yeah.
TBM: Anything you can tell us about what you’re looking at?
Arena: No, No.
Tom Bogert of The Athletic said that the Revs’ biggest needs are a winger and central midfielder. The Revolution are looking at options both in and out of the league. One of those options appears to be left-winger Tomás Chancalay.
Giacomo Vrioni Explains His Frequent Goal Celebration
We’ve seen Vrioni use a goal celebration similar to the one practiced by Erling Haaland and Ted Lasso’s Zava.
Vrioni provided a simple explanation for the routine, saying, “I meditate, and I like to do it.”
Did you expect a straight answer from Bruce??
