Report: Revolution Set for Series of Inbound and Outbound Moves
The busy offseason for the Revolution continues!
The New England Revolution’s flurry of offseason moves appears far from over.
According to multiple reports, the Revs are interested in Cameroonian forward Ignatius Ganago from French Ligue 1 side FC Nantes.
After starting his career with Cameroonian side Brasseries, Ganago had spells with OGC Nice B, OGC Nice, and RC Lens before joining Nantes in September 2022.
Since arriving in Nantes, Ganago has tallied six goals and five assists over 56 appearances across all competitions.
Ganago’s success at the club level led him to break through on the international stage with Cameroon. Since making his international debut on October 12th, 2019, Ganago has 14 caps where he has clocked 558 minutes.
According to French outlet L’Équipe, the Revs are in “advanced negotiations” over a deal that could see Ganago loaned to New England with a purchase option.
While one name might be on the way out, two might be on their way out.
When discussing the possible loan of Ignatius Ganago, GiveMeSport’s Tom Bogert reports that both parties (Giacomo Vrioni and the Revolution) are “ready to move on if a deal can be found.”.
Since joining the Revolution from Italian giants Juventus in July 2022, Vrioni has tallied 22 goals and five assists over 78 appearances for the club.
It remains uncertain if any of the reported interest in Vrioni has turned into action, but it’s something Revolution should keep an eye on.
Finally, Seth Macomber reports the Revolution is set to loan defender Santiago “Tiago” Suarez to USL Championship side Birmingham Legion.
Since joining the organization from Sacramento Republic on November 28th, 2022, Suarez has played for Revolution II, where he tallied one goal over 50 appearances.
2024 was a challenging season for the 19-year-old as he ended the season with three red cards, which was the most in MLS NEXT Pro.
This might come off as mean, but I legitimately don’t know. Are 11 total goal contributions in 56 appearances good for a forward?
Getting really excited about this next season!
