Rhode Island FC announced yesterday the signing of midfielder Jojea Kwizera, continuing the deluge of player signings in the run-up to the club’s inaugural kick-off this March 16th.
Rhode Island FC announced yesterday the signing of midfielder Jojea Kwizera, continuing the deluge of player signings in the run-up to the club’s inaugural kick-off this March 16th. The player comes to Rhode Island after being selected 15th overall in 2022’s MLS SuperDraft by CF Montreal.
Kwizera, 25, hails from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and has played his whole career for the MLS side, primarily on the left side. He made fifteen total appearances, including twelve senior MLS appearances, one MLS playoff appearance, and two Canadian Championship appearances in two seasons with the club.
The midfield totaled 527 minutes played and notched one assist in that span. Prior to joining CF Montreal, he played for the Utah Valley University Wolverines, notching three goals and eight assists.
