Rhode Island FC Adds Another Midfielder
RIFC has announced the signing of native New Englander Joseph Brito.
Rhode Island FC added another midfielder to an area of the pitch that is quickly growing stacked. Hot off the heels of the announcement of their new jerseys–and the signing of star striker Jerome ‘JJ’ Williams, RIFC has announced the signing of native New Englander Joseph Brito.
Brito was born in Hartford, Connecticut — home of Rhode Island FC’s future rivals Hartford Athletic — and came up in the New England Revolution’s academy before joining Union Omaha of USL League One in 2021. He also played college soccer with the University of North Carolina - Charlotte 49ers.
During his time with Union Omaha he made 69 total professional appearances, including 7 U.S. Open Cup appearances and 2 playoff appearances, scoring 8 goals while adding 8 assists.
