Revolution Trade Jordan Adebayo-Smith's Rights to Minnesota
The 23-year-old joins Minnesota United following breakout season with Revolution II!
After one season in New England, Revolution II forward Jordan Adebayo-Smith’s time with the organization ended on Monday, as the club traded the forwards Affiliate Priority Player Rights. The Revolution received $125,000 in GAM and could receive up to an additional $50,000 in incentives.
Adebayo-Smith signed with Revs II back on December 8th, 2022, after stints with English sides Lincoln City, Grantham Town, Boston United, Gainsborough, and Sutton United, as well as stints with USL Championship sides Tampa Bay Rowdies and NYRB II.
Adebayo-Smith had a dominant debut season with Revs II after ending the 2023 campaign with 12 goals and six assists over 30 appearances. A stat line that etched his name into the Revs II history books as he became the first player in club history to tally double-digit goals in a season while being third in all-time scoring.
Monday’s deal saw the 23-year-old forward ink a three-year deal through the 2026 MLS season with a one-year club option for the 2027 season.
Despite the massive loss of Jordan Adebayo-Smith, Revolution II appears to have found their replacements as the club inked deals with former Chicago Fire Homegrown Alex Monis and Serbian youngster Andrej Bjelajac on January 8th.
News of this came out months ago - I guess it's just gotten finalized/formalized.
Hard to see why we couldn't use him ourselves, though?
Sad to see him go. He was an exciting player to watch.
