Revolution II Secure Preseason Victory Over FC Cincinnati 2
Revs II's preseason winning and undefeated streak extends to two!
After securing a 2-0 win over FC Naples Revolution II looked to secure another victory on Monday when they squared off against MLS NEXT Pro side FC Cincinnati 2.
Monday’s friendly saw JD Gunn start in goal with Trialist One, Keegan Hughes, Trialist Two, Damario McIntosh; Gevork Diarbian, Joe Buck, Olger Escobar, Alex Monis; Marcos Dias, and Liam Butts in the outfield.
Revs II struck early as Dias got the ball to Hughes, who headed it into the net to give New England an early 1-0 lead. Gunn came up huge for Revolution II in the 22nd minute when he saved a Cincinnati penalty kick to keep the 1-0 lead intact.
After finding the opener in the 15th minute, Keegan Hughes doubled the lead in the 26th minute after Marcos Dias' corner kick found Olger Escobar, who got the ball to Hughes and extended Revolution II's lead to two!
Gunn remained in net to start the second half as Eli Ackerman, Hesron Barry, Sage Kinner, Josh Macedo; Judah Siqueira, Javaun Mussenden, Levi Katsell, Grant Emerhi, Ivan Villalobos Lopez, Cristiano Carlos came into the game.
Things remained uneventful for the second 45 as Revolution II secured a 2-1 victory over FCC 2.
