Revolution II Excited To Play First Game In Manchester, NH on Sunday
Gevork Diarbian: “I think it will be good for that part of New Hampshire, just for everyone to come out and support us."
New England Revolution II will play their first home game outside of Gillette Stadium on Sunday when they host Inter Miami II at Southern New Hampshire University’s Mark A. Ouellette Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3 pm.
Newcomer Gevork Diarbian is excited about the opportunity.
“I think it will be good for that part of New Hampshire, just for everyone to come out and support us,” Diarbian told The Blazing Musket. “I feel like when we play at Gillette there are a couple of people but not too many people around so I think this will be very good for us.”
The game will have a different feel for Revs II players because they’ll spend the night before at a local hotel. The players head north after Saturday’s clash between the Revs and Inter Miami.
Sunday marks the first of eight games that Revs II will play in Manchester, NH. It’s a trial that could become something more if successful.
Diarbian played in front of big crowds while he was with Vermont Green FC and Providence College, so he knows the value of energetic supporters.
“The fans give us that energy, that extra boost when you’re tired,” Diarbian said. “When you hear them and when you see them in the background, you want to push more obviously for the team and for the fans as well.”
While it could take time for Revs II to draw big crowds in New Hampshire, there’s hope that local fans will come out and support the team in a more intimate space.
“We want to do everything we can to win games and attract people to come support us,” Diarbian said. “I know a bunch of the guys on the team, especially the coaches, are really excited to have this new adjustment.
“Hopefully the fans can come support us because we need them and without them, I don’t think we’re going to be as successful. So hopefully they can come out and cheer for us and hopefully, we can get them wins.”
Revolution II’s first game in Manchester is on Sunday, Apr. 28 when they welcome Inter Miami II. Kickoff is set for 3 pm and tickets can be found here.
