Revolution Draft Pick Andreas Ueland Signs With Chicago Fire II
The 68th overall pick in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft returns to the United States to play in MLS NEXT Pro.
Andreas Ueland has returned to the United States as the 23-year-old has inked a deal with MLS NEXT Pro side Chicago Fire II through the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro season.
The New England Revolution selected the University of Virginia alum with the 68th overall selection in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. Despite training with the team throughout the 2023 preseason, our own Seth Macomber broke the news that the Revolution had parted ways with the Norwegian defender on February 13th.
In a press release announcing the move, Chicago Fire II General Manager Alex Boler said Fire II had “scouted Andreas during his time at Virginia and were very impressed with his level of play and his football mind.” Boler added that “his strength and skill in the backline add to a healthy competition within the group” and that Ueland “has incredible potential for the future.”
Ueland will make his return to New England on June 11th as Fire II takes on Revs II inside Gillette Stadium at 8:00 PM ET on MLSNEXTPro.com. Revs II will also travel to SeatGeek on July 30th.
