Revolution Acquire Dor Turgeman
The 21-year-old forward signs a deal through the 2028 season.
After weeks of speculation, the New England Revolution saw a new face come through the door on Wednesday as the club announced the acquisition of 21-year-old forward Dor Turgeman from Maccabi Tel Aviv using Major League Soccer’s Under-22 Initiative and signed him to a deal through the 2028 season with a club option for 2029.
According to WeGotSport’s Tom Bogert, the Revolution paid $5.5 million to acquire the forward.
Turgeman’s arrival in New England comes after tallying 32 goals and 10 assists across 114 appearances for Tel Aviv, where he assisted the club in securing two Israeli Championships plus an Israel Super Cup title.
The Ashdod native’s work at the club level has led to him earning 10 caps with the Israel National Team, where he’s notched one goal and one assist over 657 minutes.
Turgeman’s move to the Revs will reunite him with former Israel National Team teammate Ilay Feingold. The duo played 16 matches together at the U-19, U-20, and Senior levels.
“We are pleased to strengthen our attack with an impactful goal-scoring threat in Dor Turgeman, a consistent difference maker for his club in Israel and emerging star with the Israel National Team,” technical director Curt Onalfo stated. “Bringing Dor to New England as our newest U-22 signings, one of three on the current roster, will make us more dynamic in the attacking third and clinical in front of goal."
There is no word on when Turgeman will arrive in New England, bbut head coach Caleb Porter empashized how he wanted to get the forward integrated quickly.
“I am confident that his profile will translate well to MLS,” Porter said. “We will work to quickly integrate him into the team and league upon his arrival in New England."
The New England Revolution return to action on Saturday when the travel to Columbus to face the Crew.
