Report: Revolution Trade Three Players to San Jose
Ian Harkes, Mark-Anthony Kaye, and Dave Romney will reportedly reunite with Bruce Arena in San Jose.
GiveMeSport’s Tom Bogert reported news of a massive trade involving the New England Revolution Monday morning.
According to Bogert, the Revolution are sending defender Dave Romney and midfielders Ian Harkes and Mark-Anthony Kaye to the San Jose Earthquakes for $500,000 in General Allocation Money plus an international roster spot.
Romney’s time in New England ends after two seasons that saw him appear in 77 matches across all competitions. Romney tallied two goals and an assist while securing back-to-back Revolution Defender of the Year awards.
Kaye’s time ends after one and a half seasons in New England. After joining the Revolution from Toronto FC as part of the Latif Blessing trade, Kaye appeared in 46 matches across all competitions, where he tallied one goal and three assists over 3,141 minutes.
Harkes’ time with the Revs ends after one and a half seasons. After returning to MLS from Scottish side Dundee United in July 2023, Harkes appeared in 48 matches, where he tallied three goals and one assist over 3,098 minutes.
The trio of Harkes, Kaye, and Romney will reunite with former Revolution sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena, who took the San Jose Earthquakes job in November.
Lucky them! Anyone else find it funny that the Revs wished Kaye a happy birthday today on their social media??
"Hey Bruce it's me, Curt. How's it going?"
