Portland USL Team Gets Stadium Green Light From City Council
The USL League One side will play at Fitzpatrick Stadium
The Portland, Maine City Council unanimously approved an agreement to let the USL League One club use Fitzpatrick Stadium as its home stadium. The club is slated to begin play in 2025.
Portland will become a non-exclusive rental tenant to Fitzpatrick's 6,000-seat stadium and will privately fund upgrades to the facility, which will include adding locker rooms and renovating the press box according to WMTW 8. The team will also pledge 1% of revenues toward local high-impact organizations centered on DEI and underprivileged youths according to the ABC news station.
With a stadium secured, the club will look to find its name and logo as well as build out the staff of the organization.
