Porter, Fraser, Kinnear, And Bradley Among Names Being Considered For Revs Coaching Job
Onalfo told the media on Friday that he wants to hire a head coach before preseason in January.
Caleb Porter, Robin Fraser, Dominic Kinnear, and Bob Bradley are among the people being considered for the New England Revolution’s head coaching vacancy, according to sources who spoke to The Blazing Musket.
Tom Quinlan of WPRO was first on the Porter news.
Porter was most recently with the Columbus Crew, coaching them from 2019-2022. Before that, he was with the Portland Timbers from 2013-2017. Porter won an MLS Cup in 2015 with the Timbers and in 2020 with the Crew.
Fraser has been an MLS assistant and head coach. As an assistant, he won the MLS Cup in 2009 with Real Salt Lake and in 2019 with Toronto FC. He most recently served as the head coach of the Colorado Rapids. In 2021, he led the Rapids to their best regular-season points total of all time.
Dominic Kinnear is a current assistant coach at Cincinnati FC, who just won the Supporters’ Shield. The experienced coach lifted the MLS Cup with the San Jose Earthquakes in 2001 and 2003, and with the Houston Dynamo in 2006 and 2007.
Bob Bradley recently finished his second stint with Stabaek in Norway. He won an MLS Cup with the Chicago Fire in 1998 and a Supporters’ Shield with LAFC in 2019. He also managed the U.S. Men’s National Team (2006-2011) and Egypt (2011-2013). He guided the U.S. to a CONCACAF Gold Cup championship in 2007.
Revolution sporting director Curt Onalfo told the media on Friday that he wants to hire a head coach before preseason in January.
Are there any clues as to who is leading the pack? Any thoughts as to the ability of the veteran coaches to translate their past successes into present competitiveness?
All Cup winners except Fraser.
