Pioneers To Host Omaha In Round One Of USOC

The Mar. 21 game will kickoff at 7:30 PM.

The Western Mass Pioneers (USL League Two) will host Union Omaha (USL League One) at Lusitano Stadium on Mar. 21 in Round One of the 2024 U.S. Open Cup. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm.

This will be the 13th time that the Pioneers have participated in the historic tournament. Their best showing came in 2005 when they advanced to the Third Round. That year, they hosted the Chicago Fire in front of 4,000 fans. The Pioneers scored first before losing 3-1.

The Pioneer’s 2024 opponent is a daunting one as Omaha finished first in the USL League One standings last year. They also advanced to the Third Round of the U.S. Open Cup, ultimately losing 5-1 to St. Louis City SC.
