Patrick Leal and Nate Jones Join Las Vegas Lights FC
The former New England faces embark on a new journey in Sin City.
Two familiar New England faces will look to light it up when they join USL Championship side Las Vegas Lights FC ahead of the 2025 season.
Former Revolution II midfielder Patrick Leal and former Vermont Green and Colorado Rapids defender Nate Jones are on their way to Sin City.
Leal joined Las Vegas on January 14 when he inked a deal through 2025 with an option for 2026.
The Newton, Massachusetts native joins Las Vegas following one and a half seasons with Revolution II. After arriving from Italian side Venezia in August 2023, Leal went on to appear in 35 matches for Revs II and tallied four goals and four assists over 2,076 minutes.
Leal’s time with Revolution II ended following the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season when he became a free agent after his contract with the club expired.
According to GiveMeSport’s Tom Bogert, Las Vegas will also acquire Nate Jones.
After four seasons at the University of Washington, Jones continued his professional career on December 19, 2023, when Austin FC selected the Seattle native with the fifth overall pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft.
He didn’t stay in Austin for long as the club immediately traded him to the Colorado Rapids. Jones signed his first professional contract with the Rapids on January 17 2024.
After making 25 appearances for Rapids 2 and one U.S. Open Cup appearance, the Rapids picked up his option, yet he won’t be staying for long. According to Bogert, Jones is set to join Las Vegas on loan.
Leal and Jones join a Las Vegas side that comes into 2025 after finishing 2024 in fourth place in the Western Conference and making it to the Western Conference final.
Las Vegas begins their 2025 campaign on Saturday, March 8, when they host the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
Hope he goes to a winning team as Williams doesn't care about results.
