Nico Campuzano Signs Short-Term Agreement With First Team
The Revs II newcomer will join the Revs for their meeting with D.C. United on Saturday.
Revolution II goalkeeper Nico Campuzano will miss the Revolution II season opener on Sunday, but for a good reason.
With veteran goalkeeper Earl Edwards Jr. unavailable due to illness, the 25-year-old keeper has signed a short-term agreement with the first team ahead of Saturday’s meeting with D.C. United.
Campuzano joined the Revolution organization on December 8th, 2022, after spending the previous season with MLS NEXT Pro’s FC Cincinnati 2, where he recorded 14 saves over four appearances.
The Cantabria, Spain native excelled during his college days at the University of Pittsburgh. Campuzano notched an impressive 118 saves over his two seasons in Pittsburgh. Campuzano led the Panthers to a stellar 29-9-2 record and earned numerous individual awards, including the United Soccer Coaches first team South All-Region, All-ACC first team, All-ACC Tournament Team, and All-ACC Academic Team.
With Campuzano temporarily joining the first team, expect recently signed Academy keeper Max Weinstein to start in goal for Revolution II in their season opener against Atlanta United 2 on Sunday.
