New England Revolution Sign 2025 MLS SuperDraft First-Round Pick to MLS Contract
The goalkeeper will be third on the depth chart
The New England Revolution have a new young goalkeeper that will be garnering fan’s attention.
The club has signed 2025 MLS SuperDraft selection Donovan Parisian to a two-year MLS contract through the 2026 season, with club options for 2027 and 2028. Parisian was selected by New England after playing two seasons at the University of San Diego where he tallied 10 shutouts in 20 appearances. Parisian was named the 2024 WCC Goalkeeper of the Year and earned First Team All-WCC honors.
The move is intriguing as New England currently has two promising goalkeepers on its roster. Max Weinstein once looked to be the heir apparent but split time with J.D. Gunn down with Revolution II in 2024. With Parisian signing an MLS contract, he appears to be next in line.
2025 will be Weinstein’s fourth season with Revs II. While he is only 20 years old, at some point he deserves a shot with the first-team and if New England feels he is underserving, they should look to move on from the goalkeeper.
Through three seasons, Weinstein has racked up 92 saves while conceding 42 goals in 23 appearances. He has shown promise and his career appears to be stalling out if he continues on with Revs II for much longer.
But Parisian is currently the third-string goalkeeper behind Alex Bono and Aljaz Ivacic. It will be interesting to see how he develops in his first professional season.
