New England Revolution Select Three Players in 2025 MLS SuperDraft
The Revolution beefed up defensively with 18th, 35th, and 65th overall picks!
Friday afternoon’s MLS SuperDraft saw the New England Revolution select three players in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft.
For a second year in a row, New England traded out of the first-round pick as they dealt the fifth overall pick to the San Jose Earthquakes in exchange for $200,000 in 2025 General Allocation Money.
After trading away the fifth pick, the Revs traded back into the draft when they sent $75,000 in GAM to the Houston Dynamo for the 18th overall pick. The Revolution used the pick to select sophomore goalkeeper Donovan Parisian from the University of San Diego.
The Queen Creek, Arizona native joins the Revolution after spending the past two seasons at San Diego, where he amassed a 14-5-1 record while notching 10 clean sheets. Parisian’s time with the Toreros saw him concede 14 goals while notching 50 saves.
Parisian’s sophomore year in San Diego saw him take home the 2024 West Coast Conference Goalkeeper of the Year after notching eight shutouts in 11 appearances.
After securing a 15-3-2 record on the season, Parisian and San Diego earned a spot in the recent College Cup tournament. His run started great after earning back-to-back shutouts following consecutive 1-0 wins over UC Davis and #10-ranked Duke. San Diego’s run ended in the third round after a 1-0 defeat to eventual College Cup champions Vermont.
The 35th overall pick saw the Revolution bulk up the back line when they selected sophomore defender Eric Howard from Georgetown University
Howard joins the Revs after spending the past two seasons with the Hoyas, clocking 2,235 minutes over 38 appearances while notching two goals and five assists.
After ending the year with an 11-5-5 record, Howard and Georgetown earned a first-round bye in the College Cup tournament as they entered as the #4 seed. Their run came to an abrupt end in the second round after suffering a 2-0 loss to unranked North Carolina State.
The 65th overall pick saw the Revs make another addition to the backline with the selection of junior defender CJ Williams from Boston College.
The Valley Stream, New York native joins the Revs after spending the past three seasons with the Eagles where he clocked 3,110 minutes over 39 appearances. Williams' time in Boston also saw him find the back of the net once.
After punting during the 2024 draft, it was refreshing to see the Revolution active during 2025’s edition.
Not sure why they passed up the opportunity to get Max Murray from Vermont. A CB in the same mold as Moise Bombito (also missed by the Revs).
