Kelyn Rowe Announces Retirement
"Time for a vacation and a good glass of wine"
After 12 years as a pro, Kelyn Rowe has hung up his boots. The former New England Revolution midfielder announced on Friday that he has retired stating that it was time for a vacation and a good glass of wine.
Rowe had two stints in New England. He was drafted by the Revolution 3rd overall in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft and went on to make over 200 appearances and score 29 goals.
The midfielder was then traded in 2018 but returned to New England in 2020. Rowe ended his career with over 300 appearances and 20,000 minutes played.
His final seasons as a pro might have been the most rewarding. With his hometown club — the Seattle Sounders — Rowe lifted an MLS Cup along with a Concacaf Champions League (now Concacacf Champions Cup) trophy.
On the international stage, Rowe made four appearances for the U.S. Men’s National Team. He was on the USMNT Gold Cup winning squad in 2017.
