The New England Revolution faced off against Rhode Island FC in the fourth round of the 2025 U.S. Open Cup and left the smallest state in the country with a 2-1 win.
The Revs deployed a strong second unit against the USL Championship side. Alex Bono was in net behind the backline of Will Sands, Keegan Hughes, Andrew Farrell, and Brandon Bye. Allan Oyirwoth and Jackson Yueill comprised the midfield while Luis Diaz and Luca Langoni were on the wings. Maxi Urruti and Tomas Chancalay were the starting strikers up top.
Rhode Island FC trotted out a strong starting XI but had backup goalkeeper Jackson Lee in net behind the backline of Grant Stoneman, Frank Nodarse, Rio Hope-Gund, and Aldair Sanchez. Clay Holstad and Amos Shapiro-Thompson were the defensive midfield duo while Maxi Rodriguez played more advanced up the pitch.
Noah Fuson and Jojea Kwizera were out wide while Albert Dikwa was the lone striker.
