The New England Revolution finally announced the club’s end-of-season roster decisions and it is clear that changes are coming to the roster.
The returning players who entered the offseason with guaranteed 2025 contracts are Carles Gil, Esmir Bajraktarevic, Ian Harkes, Mark-Anthony Kaye, Noel Buck, Luca Langoni, Alhassan Yusuf, Giacomo Vrioni, Malcolm Fry, Aljaz Ivacic, Peyton Miller, Jack Panayotou, and Santiago Suarez, Dave Romney, and Matt Polster Tomas Chancalay and Aljaz Ivacic.
Andrew Farrell did re-sign with the club in an interesting role. In addition to serving his on-field role, Farrell will also take on a Player Professional Development role as an assistant coach in the Revolution Academy.
Brandon Bye and Ema Boateng had their options picked up while New England declined the options of Xavier Arreaga, Jonathan Mensah, Dylan Borrero, Nacho Gil, and Tommy McNamara.
Also, the Revs reached a new contract agreement with Earl Edwards Jr. for the 2025 MLS season, with a one-year option for 2026, and re-signed Will Sands to a new two-year contract through the 2026 MLS season, with a one-year option for 2027.
The Revolution did not re-sign Nick Lima, Tim Parker, Bobby Wood, Damian Rivera, and Ryan Spaulding who are now out of contract.
New England also announced that assistant coach Clint Peay will not be returning to the club.
The Revs will have plenty of spots to fill as they currently have only 21 players on its roster. New England also currently has two U-22 initiative slots and four international slots open.
I assume that Chancalay is signed for next year as well?
Wait, Peay moving on… no Revs 2 coaching changes announced?
