Massachusetts Native Makes Up USWNT 2025 Futures Camp Roster
The Gotham defender will be repping New England
Lilly Reale was one of seven defenders chosen for the 2025 Futures Camp. U.S. Women’s National Team head coach Emma Hayes named 24 players to the 2025 Futures Camp, featuring up-and-coming USWNT prospects. The Roster Features 14 Professional Players and 10 College Players (17 Players Have Experience in FIFA Youth Women’s World Cups).
Reale was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 2003. She started playing soccer around the age of four and club soccer for South Shore Select. The prospect initially committed to Boston College but after a coaching change, she committed to the University Of California, Los Angeles.
During her four years at UCLA, she made 83 appearances. In her sophomore season, she was named Pac-12 Defender of the Year and second-team All-American. In her junior year, she was the only player to win consecutive Pac-12 Defender of the Year awards. On January 3, 2025, she signed a 3-year contract with NJ/NY Gotham FC.
Reale was first called into training camp with the U.S. Under-15 team in 2017. While in college, she started for the Under-20s at the 2022 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship and she played friendlies for the Under-23 team in 2023.
Great news. We have a great tradition with NE'ers on the USWNT, but the well has run a bit dry lately with the retirements of Sam Mewis and Alyssa Naeher.
