Henrich Ravas Has Enjoyed Working With Kevin Hitchcock
Ravas on Hitchcock: “I heard a lot of good things about him. Obviously, the job he’s done here has been magnificent.”
Henrich Ravas has enjoyed working with goalkeeping coach Kevin Hitchcock.
Ravas joined the New England Revolution on Jan. 6, signing a contract through the 2026 season, with an additional one-year club option.
The 26-year-old came from Widzew Łódź of Poland’s first division where he made 63 appearances. He was the league’s save leader (59) in the 2023-24 season.
Coming to the Revs meant working with Hitchcock, who previously coached Matt Turner and Djordje Petrovic. Both netminders now play in the English Premier League.
“I heard a lot of good things about him,” Ravas said of Hitchcock. “Obviously, the job he’s done here has been magnificent.”
Ravas noted that his relationship with Hitchcock has been good so far. The experienced coach—who played for Chelsea—has already pinpointed areas they’ll look to improve.
“We’ve been working on some stuff,” Ravas said. “I kind of knew my weaknesses before I came here, and I think he caught it straightaway. We’re working on that stuff.”
While Ravas has only been with the Revs for a short time, he believes he’s already improved. The hope is that Hitchcock can help the 6’ 5” goalkeeper reach his full potential.
“I think one of the things is he’s getting me much sharper and quicker,” Ravas said. “I think, also, more powerful, especially on the line but with all aspects we’ve been working on. I’m really happy that I can work with him, and I can improve under his eyes. The things we’ve been working on in preseason, I already feel better [about], but I know there’s obviously a long way to go still.”
