Portland Hearts of Pine: Michel Poon-Angeron to Join Trinidad and Tobago Roster for February Fixtures
Portland's first ever signing is called in for a pair of friendly matches against Jamaica
Michel Poon-Angeron is listed among the 24-man Trinidad and Tobago roster for two upcoming friendly matches against Jamaica.
Jamaica will host both games as the two sides prepare for the upcoming Gold Cup, which is set to begin in June. The first meeting will be on February 6 in Montego Bay, and the second on February 9 in Kingston.
Notably, Poon-Angeron was the first signing in Portland Hearts of Pine history, joining the club from AC Port of Spain in December. Despite what the club's name suggests, AC Port of Spain competes in the top flight of the Trinidad and Tobago football pyramid. The 23-year-old midfielder helped the club win the Trinidad and Tobago Premier Football League (TTPFL) in 2024.
Poon-Angeron has 17 caps for Trinidad and Tobago, with one goal against Guyana in May. The call-up gives him an excellent opportunity to showcase his ability in front of former Manchester United forward and current Trinidad head coach Dwight Yorke before this summer’s tournament.
