Hartford Athletic Loan Pele Ousmanou to Charlotte Independence
The defender will spend the 2025 season in USL League One
Hartford Athletic have sent defender Pele Ousmanou on loan to Charlotte Independence of USL League One. The 20-year-old will remain with the Jacks for the duration of the 2025 season.
The Cameroonian signed a long-term contract with the Latics ahead of the 2024 season, but struggled with injuries and only made the gameday roster on three occasions, finally making his debut as a substitute in a 3-2 loss to Orange County on the final day of the season.
Ousmanou’s loan leaves Hartford thin in defense in the short term, with Emmanuel Samadia set to miss one game for picking up a red card in Saturday’s 2-0 loss to Lexington SC, and Adrián Diz Pe’s availability in question due to an injury in the same game. It also leaves the Latics with only 19 players on the active roster, one of the smallest squads in the USL Championship.
Hartford Athletic return to action on Tuesday, March 18, as the Latics take on NPSL side New York Shockers in the U.S. Open Cup.
