Hartford Athletic Add Forward Adewale Obalola
The Nigerian forward is the fourth new signing of the offseason
Hartford Athletic have signed Adewale Obalola. Obalola is the fourth new addition of the 2024-25 offseason, following Jonathan Jimenez Vargas, Samuel Careaga, and Adrián Diz Pe, and joins Jimenez Vargas, Michee Ngalina, Deshane Beckford and Mamadou Dieng on the Hartford front line.
A native of Lagos, Nigeria, Obalola most recently played for Ekranas in the Pirma Lyga, the Lithuanian second tier, where he was a dynamic scorer, leading the club in goals in the 2024 season. Obalola also had some disciplinary issues, accumulating 10 yellow cards and a red card in just 30 appearances, but at just 20 years old, there will be time for him to settle down and develop his scoring talent in Hartford.
Obalola is also a product of Rainbow Sports Global, a Cameroon-based sports company that owns Rainbow FC Bamenda, and previously had an interest in Czech club MFK Vyškov. Rainbow Sports also produced current Latics Mamadou Dieng and Pele Ousmanou.
The Blazing Musket will continue to have coverage of all of Hartford Athletic’s offseason moves as they are announced.
